Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 August 2026
Answering Crew is operated by Greyson Corbin Goldberg, a sole proprietorship registered in New York. We provide a phone answering and appointment scheduling service to home-services contractors, such as heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical businesses.
This policy explains what information we handle, why, and what choices you have. It covers two different groups of people, and the distinction matters throughout.
Who this covers
- Our clients. The contracting businesses who hire us to answer their phones.
- Their customers. People who call one of our client businesses and speak to the answering service we operate on that business's behalf.
If you called a contractor and reached us, we are handling your information on that contractor's behalf. They decide what happens to it, and you can contact them directly at any time.
Information we collect
From callers
- Name and callback telephone number
- Service address
- Email address, if you choose to give one
- The nature of the problem you are calling about, and the type and approximate age of the equipment
- The date and time of your call, and whether an appointment was booked
- A recording and written transcript of the call
We collect this so the contractor can schedule and carry out the work you called about. It is stored in that contractor's customer records.
From our clients
- Business name, address, hours and service area
- Owner name, mobile number and email address
- Billing information, processed by our payment provider and not stored by us
SMS and text messaging
We do not sell or share your phone number
Mobile information and consent to receive text messages will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used only to carry out the service the contractor provides to you.
How consent is obtained
When you telephone one of our client businesses, our answering service will ask whether you agree to receive text messages about your appointment. Consent is recorded against your contact record at the time of that call, along with what you said. We do not add anyone to text messaging without them agreeing on the call.
Consent to receive texts is never a condition of booking work or of any purchase.
What we send
Messages relate to the appointment or enquiry you contacted the business about. Typically that means a booking confirmation, a reminder before the visit, a note when the technician is on the way, and a reply if we missed your call.
Message frequency varies with your appointment activity, and is generally a small number of messages per booked job. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for assistance. You can also tell the contractor directly and they will remove you.
Call recordings
Calls to our client businesses are recorded, and callers are told so at the start of the call. Recordings and transcripts are made available to the contractor you called so they can serve you properly and check the quality of the service we provide them.
How we use information
- To answer calls, book appointments and pass details to the contractor
- To send the messages described above
- To alert the business owner to an urgent or emergency call
- To report to our client on the calls and bookings we handled for them
We do not use caller information to market anything to you, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Who we share information with
We use third-party providers to run the service, and share only what each needs to do its job. These currently include a customer relationship management platform, a telephony and voice provider, and a payment processor. They are bound to use the information only to provide their service to us.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect someone's safety in an emergency.
We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses only what it needs to function. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share browsing activity. Our web host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site available and secure. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies we will say so here first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How we protect information
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is stored with our service providers under their own security controls. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the service, and our providers are contractually bound to use the information only to provide their service to us. We keep information only as long as described below. No system is perfectly secure, so we do not claim it is; if a breach ever affects your information we will notify you as required by law.
How long we keep it
Caller records and call recordings are held in the contractor's account for as long as they remain our client, and are handed to them or deleted when the relationship ends. If you want your information removed sooner, contact the contractor you called, or us at the address below.
Your choices
- Stop text messages at any time by replying
STOP - Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask for it to be corrected or deleted
- Decline to give an email address or any detail you would rather not share
Children
The service is for businesses and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects messaging, notify clients directly.
